Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council Notice of Public Meeting
South Boston, Virginia, March 9, 2017: Contingent upon Certification by the GO Virginia State Board on March 14, 2017, the Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 16 beginning at 12 noon. The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Executive Committee will meet prior to the full Council at 10:30 AM. Both meetings will be held at the offices of MidAtlantic Broadband, 1100 Confroy Drive, South Boston, Virginia 24592. Meetings are open to the public; public comment period occurs at the beginning of the agenda. The agenda includes election of officers, approval of bylaws, review of the responses to the RFI for the Support Organization & Fiscal Agent, status of the Growth & Diversification Plan, and discussion on advisory committee assignments.
GO Virginia is the Commonwealth’s emerging economic development initiative. The mission of GO Virginia is to encourage collaboration among business, education, and government in each region, on activities that will enhance private sector growth and opportunity, economic competitiveness, and alignment of workforce development programs with the needs of the employers in the regions. GO Virginia is managed within nine regions of Virginia. The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 includes the Counties of Patrick, Henry, Pittsylvania, Halifax, Mecklenburg, Brunswick, Nottoway, Prince Edward, Lunenburg, Buckingham, Cumberland, Charlotte, Amelia and the Cities of Martinsville and Danville.
